Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Relational psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults across Ontario

Book a consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

The people I work best with are often thoughtful, self-aware individuals who sense there’s something deeper beneath what they’re struggling with — something you haven't quite named, or have circled for a while.

You may look capable from the outside while privately feeling anxious, dissatisfied, emotionally stuck, disconnected in relationships, or uncertain about who you are becoming.

Together we slow down and pay attention to what’s happening beneath the surface — at the feelings, patterns, and earlier experiences shaping how you live now. This is slower, reflective work, and over time what felt confusing or stuck begins to make more sense. A steadier, more whole sense of yourself can emerge.

About me

I completed my five-year Diploma in Psychotherapy at the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counselling College, a CRPO-registered training program with an emphasis on psychodynamic work. Since graduating I’ve continued to take advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and have 17 years of experience in clinical practice.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent two decades working in documentary television as a researcher, writer, and story editor. That work — listening closely to people, paying attention to what’s spoken and unspoken, and trying to understand the deeper shape of a life — continues to inform how I practice psychotherapy today.

How I work

Therapy with me is conversational, reflective, and open-ended. You bring whatever feels most alive or pressing, and together we pay attention to the feelings, patterns, and assumptions underneath. Over time, the deeper themes in your life begin to emerge and connect.

Our relationship itself becomes part of the work — a place to explore how you experience closeness, distance, conflict, care, trust, or being understood. The work unfolds gradually and often leads to changes that feel more lasting and deeply rooted.

There’s no pressure to arrive with a perfectly organized agenda. The work unfolds gradually, through conversation, reflection, and attention to what begins to take shape between us.

Working Online

Online therapy is sometimes assumed to feel more distant than meeting in person. In my experience, it rarely does. Once the conversation begins, most people find themselves surprisingly present and engaged.

From the privacy of your own space, sessions often move quickly into real conversation. Video still allows for the subtle emotional cues that matter in psychotherapy — facial expression, tone, pauses, and eye contact. Many clients tell me that after a few sessions, they stop noticing the screen altogether.

All you need is a private place where you can speak freely, a reliable internet connection, and a willingness to begin. Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly over a secure encrypted video platform. I work with clients across Ontario and am based in Toronto.

I offer an initial 20-minute consultation by phone or Zoom — a chance for us to see whether working together feels like a good fit before making a commitment.
